Episode 80 – Vinca Petersen

This episode’s guest is Vinca Petersen.  Vinca is a photographer, installation, multimedia and performance artist whose work emerges from her deep social and political engagement with under represented communities to give them voice and recognition.  Her photobooks documenting subcultures have been exhibited in the likes of the Tate Modern and in 2010 she created the Future Youth Project that takes diverse groups of volunteers to the Ukraine to help creatively enrich a group of disabled men.  Her alter-ego Dr Joy is a healer who engages the public in serious conversations about over-seriousness.  Recorded at House of St Barnabus, Soho, London.
